About H&P County Rugby Union

Welcome to the website for the Huntingdonshire and Peterborough County Rugby Union. One of the four sub-counties comprising the East Midlands Constituent Body, H&P is formed of seven clubs – Deepings, Huntingdon & District, Peterborough, Peterborough Lions, St Neots, St Ives and Thorney. It exists to provide a forum for member clubs, as well as both an opportunity for traditional local cup rivalry and representative honours from U13s up to senior level, including from 2020/21, womens’ representative rugby.

This site offers news affecting local rugby, club contact details and cup information, along with a calendar of dates for representative fixtures and committee meetings. We are also on Twitter – @HandPRugby

News

Blast from the Past – H&P Vets v E. Northants Vets from 2004

We are grateful to Simon Fordham for sending through this photo taken on a typically muddy day at Hinchingbrooke School after a match between H&P Vets and East Northants Vets on 4th April, 2004.

Presiding over proceedings is Gordon Ascroft, and we recognise Barnaby Perks, Simon Fordham, Nick Wright, Mark Belchier and Duncan Simmonds from Huntingdon – who are the other H&P players? Suggestions on a postcard (or an email to sm@rugbycluboflondon.co.uk) and we’ll update the full squad as we get the names.

If anyone has any more old H&P team photos, we would love to post them on the website, alongside some more topical content as well hopefully.

Welcome to the new Hunts & Peterborough CRU website!

It is designed to provide information on what is happening in the sub county, with news of training, matches, meetings and other important information affecting the seven clubs that form H&P.

Please send any news items or information to Sid Millar on sm@rugbycluboflondon.co.uk for inclusion on the site, and do keep an eye out for our Twitter feed @HandPRugby

Even though there is not much happening in the rugby world at present, we hope you like the site and find it informative – many thanks to Spencer and Abi Burgess at Nettl of Huntingdon for building it for us.

Hunts & Peterborough Senior Mens Cup Draw 2020/21

At the H&P AGM on 17th June, the draw was made for the Hunts and Peterborough Cup for senior men’s teams.

Match 1 – Thorney RFC v BYE

Match 2 – St Ives RFC v St Neots RFC

Match 3 – Peterborough Lions RFC 2s v Deepings RFC

Match 4 – Huntingdon & District RFC v Peterborough RFC 2s

In the semi finals, the winner of Match 3 will be at home to Thorney RFC, and the winner of Match 4 will be at home to the winner of Match 2.

The Finals will be held on H&P Finals Day on a date to be confirmed, at Huntingdon RFC. All results of matches should be emailed through to the fixture secretary by the winning side as soon as possible after the match, and obviously the competition is subject to there being enough time in the calendar once we return to rugby. We hope that after the fulfilment of league games, that the H&P Cup will be the priority for our seven teams and look forward to seeing you at Finals Day.
